FAQ

What is Crowd Favorite in Chained Beasts?
On the verified post-battle screenshot, the banner showing laurel total 115 is labeled CROWD FAVORITE with a gold border. Pamphlets, a merchant Passive item, says the crowd throws clubs to the crowd favorite. Selection rules beyond that single frame are not disclosed.
What are Variety, Tempo, and Carnage?
They are three rating rows on post-battle banners, shown with icon counts on the official screenshot. Featherweight has not published formulas linking those rows to laurel scores or Reward payouts.
Does the crowd throw items during fights?
Store text says the crowd throws objects into the arena. The Pay Attention achievement requires dying to an object thrown by the crowd. Triggers and item types beyond examples are not fully listed in our sources.
What does REWARD +74 mean?
The post-battle screen shows REWARD +74 with a smaller +11 beneath on the official screenshot. How those numbers are calculated is not disclosed in official sources we read; we do not extrapolate formulas.
Where does "crowd goes wild" appear in game text?
Verified lines include On Fire I affliction text, On a Roll skill text, and Notorious I affliction text in trailer frames. Trigger conditions for going wild are not defined in those sources.

What does the crowd do according to official text?

Steam store copy states that winning the crowd’s favor means they will “always have your back”, and that the crowd throws objects into the arena. The Pay Attention achievement (Die to an object thrown by the crowd) confirms thrown objects can kill players.

Those lines establish crowd support as a mechanic tied to combat hazards and post-fight labels. They do not specify vote systems, meter fill rates, or team-wide versus per-player favor.

For merchant items referencing the favorite player, see merchant items. Nightly afflictions that mention the crowd appear on afflictions and Trainer.

What does the post-battle screen show?

Official Steam screenshot ss-09 shows four purple score banners after a fight. Readings below are as shown in the official Steam store screenshots; the release build may differ.

Element P1 P2 P3 P4
HP change −40 −8 −38 −40
Variety (icons shown) 4 4 4 4
Tempo (icons shown) 4 4 4 3
Carnage (skulls shown) 4 3 4 2
Laurel total 106 90 115 55
Crowd label — — CROWD FAVORITE (gold border) —
REWARD (primary) +74 shown once for the row
REWARD (secondary) +11 smaller line

On the verified screenshot, P3’s 115 is the highest laurel total and that banner alone carries the CROWD FAVORITE tag. P1 and P3 show the same icon count on all three rows (4, 4, 4) yet different laurel totals (106 vs 115), so the icon rows alone do not explain the totals. Exact formulas are not disclosed in official sources we read. We do not derive weights or predict REWARD values.

Bottom REWARD displays +74 with a smaller +11 on the same screen. Meaning of the two lines is not disclosed.

How is Crowd Favorite decided?

Official materials show:

  • On the verified post-battle screenshot, the banner with laurel total 115 is labeled CROWD FAVORITE (gold border); we do not treat that single frame as proof that highest laurel always wins in every party size or build.
  • Pamphlets (merchant Passive) reads Crowd throws clubs to the crowd favorite on the Night IV shop screen.

Featherweight has not published tie-breakers, party-wide rules, or whether favor persists across nights. How laurel totals are calculated is likewise not disclosed in official sources we read.

Where does “the crowd goes wild” appear in game text?

Several verified cards reference wild crowds without defining the state:

Source screen Text (verbatim where quoted)
Trainer Night I — On Fire I Sometimes catch fire when the crowd goes wild
Skill picker — On a Roll Kills grant 4s of INVULNERABILITY if the crowd is going WILD
Trainer Night VIII — Notorious I If the crowd go wild they will throw things

Trigger conditions for crowd goes wild / going WILD are not disclosed in official sources we read. This page lists occurrences only; see afflictions and Trainer for full card context.

What connects combat performance to rewards?

Post-battle REWARD numbers sit beside laurel scores but lack published formulas. Run economy also includes merchant gold and achievements such as Majority Stakeholder (Individually earn at least 400 coins in a run)—see achievements guide for wording.

Chain coordination and four-player labels in fights appear on the co-op guide. The arena screenshot below shows the crowd bar silhouettes during combat; bubble icons above that bar are visible on multiple screenshots but their meaning is not disclosed.

What should new players expect?

Crowd favor shows up in UI labels, merchant Passives, achievements, and affliction/skill text, but many links between them are unfinished in public documentation. Use post-battle banners to compare laurel totals within your party, not as a solved scoring puzzle.

Start with the beginner guide for run structure; return here after fights when you want to compare banner readouts to official screenshots.
